Q: WHY DO I NEED TO REGISTER TO VOTE?
A: Voting is a right which all of our national heroes fought for. It is our duty as citizens to use this right and not put their sacrifices to waste.

Q: How do I get a voter’s ID?
A: The printing of Voter's IDs has been suspended since 2012. Instead, you may secure a Voter's Certification if you need a document proving that you are a registered voter.
  1. If you registered BEFORE 2012 and your registration status is active, go to the Office of the Election Officer at the place where you are registered to claim your voter's ID.
  2. If you registered beginning 2012 up to the present, you will no longer be issued a voter's ID.
Q: How do I get a voter’s certification?

A: Step 1: Prepare 1 (one) valid ID and P75.00 payment (Free of charge for senior citizens and PWD)

Step 2: Go to the Office of the Election Officer in the district/city/municipality where you are registered, or to the COMELEC Main Office in Intramuros, Manila and request for the certificate.

If the voter is not available to apply for it personally, it may be secured through an authorized representative. Prepare the following additional requirements:

  • Authorization letter,
  • (2) original and photocopy of 1 valid ID of the voter,
  • and (3) original and photocopy of 1 valid ID of the authorized representative.
Q: How to check if I am already a registered voter?
A: To verify your voter registration status, you may do the following:
  1. Inquire directly with the Office of the Election Officer (OEO) in the district/city/municipality where you are registered.
  2. Inquire with the Information Technology Department (ITD) at tel. no. 8527-9365 or 8526-7769.
Q: I just submitted my application, can I now request for voter's certification?
A: Your application still has to undergo Election Registration Board (ERB) hearing for approval/disapproval, and this is conducted every quarter. Only after approval of your application will you be able to secure a voter's certification.
